OUR STORY
Penyffordd Lions were formed in 2017 following the closure of the original Penyffordd Football Club after the 2015/16 season. Built from the foundations of the successful Red Lion Strollers Sunday League side, the club was created to ensure senior football continued in the village.
The name "Lions" pays tribute to the Red Lion heritage while signalling the start of a new era for football in Penyffordd.
In 2022, the senior club merged with Penyffordd F.C Juniors to create a single community football club, bringing together Mini Kickers, Juniors, Lionesses, Youth and Senior football under one identity.

The First Team represents the highest level of the club's player pathway and serves as the senior flagship of Penyffordd Football Club.
Our ambition is to compete at the highest possible standard within Welsh grassroots football while creating genuine opportunities for local players to progress from Junior and Youth football into the senior game. We are committed to developing a sustainable squad built around players who understand what it means to represent Penyffordd.
By combining experienced leaders with emerging talent, the Lions continue to build a competitive team that reflects the values, identity and ambitions of the whole club.
